Allison Leonard

Allison Leonard is the Director of Communications and Public Relations at Trans Canada Trail. With a wide-ranging career focused on media, research and government, she supports the Centre for Trail Excellence by sharing knowledge and ensuring high-quality content and publishing.  

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Allison worked as web lead at the Government of Nova Scotia, making critical information accessible to the public. Before joining government, she was managing editor at the Centre for International Governance Innovation, an award-winning think tank focused on the intersection of technology and democracy. She holds a degree in journalism and contemporary studies. In graduate school, she studied the role social media plays in shaping perceptions of news.
